Drama Club

Drama is an art form and a perfect medium to reflect the problems of the society and nation at large. It leaves indelible effect on the minds and triggers the process of bringing awakening and dynamic changes in the thinking pattern and attitudes. It holds a mirror to the society, highlighting the contemporary problems and also suggests the solutions by compelling the different categories of the society to introspect and ponder over the social evils and to make efforts to eradicate them.

The Drama club of Dyal Singh Public School is one such endeavour to bring awakening through this great art form.

Stage Performance by Drama Club :

  1. Play : War and Peace – Play highlighted the destructive part of war and made an appeal for establishment of peace.
  2. Skit : Youth and Nation – The play highlighted the sacrifices made by our soldiers at the altar of motherland and aimed at promoting a feeling of patriotism.
  3. Skit : Road Safety – The skit warned against violating road safety rules and gave a message to show respect for the road safety rules.
  4. Skit : Janam Lene do Mujhe Bhi – The skit aimed at bringing awakening against Female Foeticide. A team of 12 students participated in the Inter School Competition. The play won second prize and one student Pinky Maan got the best actress award.
  5. Play : Bio-diversity – The play was sent for district level competition, 26 students participated in it and the school won third prize.
  6. Play : Ashok Ka Shastra Tyag – An episode from history related to Samrat Ashoka was dramatized. Ashoka’s transformation after Kalinga was and his refuge in Buddhism had been highlighted.
  7. Play : Indigo – An episode from Gandhi’s life related to the sharecroppers of Champaran was dramatized. The victory of Gandhi’s nonviolence had been highlighted.
  8. Skit : Illiteracy Eradiction – As a part of Literacy Mission , a skit was presented on eradication of Illeteracy.
  9. Play : Ban on Crackers – The play highlighted the pathetic condition of child laborers  working in cracker making factories and made an appeal to put a ban on crackers.
  10. Play : Relevance of Gandhism in the Modern Context – The play highlighted the philosophy of “Gandhigiri” and its relevance in the modern day-to-day life.
  11. Workshop on Drama and Acting : – As a part of summer camp the school organized a workshop on Drama and acting. About two hundred students participated in English Drama Classes and Hindi Natak Kala classes. Tips on acting stage performance, costumes and props were given.
